Ryan's Well - A Special Fund-raising Event

Father Lance Robbins with our Sunday School children
involved with Ryan's Well project.

Ryan’s Well Update

Thanks to everyone, especially our enthusiastic plastic-egg-dispensing Sunday School kids, for their support of the Ryan’s Well project. We hoped to raise $750.00 to dig a well in west Calcutta ... and as of Easter Sunday we totaled $985.79 and the final tally was $1025.00,  so thank you, people of Good Shepherd, for your donations, and be sure to look for updates, including pictures, in future newsletters as the well is dug.
                                                                                               - from Dr. Steve Robb.

Note:  The Ryan's Well foundation will be mentioning Good Shepherd on their site and adding pictures of the well as it progresses, so visit their site frequently for updates -

Ryan’s Well – A Fund-Raising project by Good Shepherd Sunday School Children and organized by Dr. Steve Robb and his wife Sally Robb
For four Sundays  the children handed out empty Easter eggs asking everyone to just put  spare change in the egg and drop it off in the well located in the narthex. The children's  aim was to raise $750.00 to help build a well in West Calcutta, India. Our donation will be matched by Matt Daman, the actor. Clean fresh water will be a reality where it is so desperately needed. Our thanks to Steve & Sally Robb for making this project a success.
Read the story of how this project was begun by a 6 year old boy in Grade One, in Kemptville (now called North Grenville) Ontario, Canada ( original hometown of our Sam's Lambs 'volunteer shepherdess' - Betty Van Volkenburg)  -   http://www.ryanswell.ca/story/
