Walkabout Events have  been scheduled to give everyone a chance to get to know our nominees.

The 5 candidates for the 8th Bishop of Rochester will be visiting the diocese Monday, January 21 through Friday, January 25.  There will be several opportunities for you, delegates to the electing convention, and all interested members of our parishes to meet these 5 extraordinary individuals.

`Walkabout Events'

·         Monday, January 21, St. Thomas', Bath:  Candidate Presentation event
(open to all)

·         Tuesday, January 22, Christ Church, Hornell: Candidate Presentation event (open to all)

·         Wednesday, January 23, St. Peter's, Geneva: Candidate Presentation event (open to all)

·         Thursday, January 24, Asbury Methodist, Rochester
Candidate Presentation event (open to all)

All Evening presentations begin promptly at 6:30

 (Participants should arrive by 6:00)

Important Details:

1.                  The evening sessions will follow a rotating small group format.  Participants will be assigned a meeting room and the five candidates will rotate into each room.  Candidates will spend 25 minutes in each room before rotating to the next group.  Candidates will make only a brief introductory statement so that the majority of the time can be used for your questions.  The process assumes that participants will have read the information about the candidates available on the diocesan webpage and in Living Water.  Participants are encouraged to prepare questions ahead of time.  Facilitators will keep candidate answers to 2 minutes to allow for as many questions as possible.

2.                  A word on room assignments: because of space limitations, there will be
4 groups assigned to smaller meeting rooms and 1 large group that will meet in the worship space of our 4 venues.  Having at least one large space that accommodates a large number of people will allow for everyone who comes to have opportunity to see and hear each candidate.  However, it also means that some participants will have the benefit of a smaller group environment.  Room assignments will be made on a first come basis (delegates do not have priority).  Be early!

3.                  To facilitate the arrangements and the assigning of rooms, please  arrive as early as possible.  The committee suggests that everyone arrive by 6 o'clock.  Late arrivals, however, will be admitted into the large worship space.

4.                  All the events are open.  No district boundaries are being enforced.  People may attend more than one session.

5.                  Only beverages will be available at the events.
