Outreach - A Reminder of What the Outreach
Committee Does
Outreach contributes to Meal & More, Pines of Peace Comfort Care,
Webster Home Comfort Care Webster Community Chest. Webster Volunteer
Fire Department, Cameron Community Center, Williamson Community
Center, Webster Food Pantry, Ton of Love, Life Span Golden Memories
program, (similar to Make a Wish for children) as well as giving
financial aid to individual families from our congregation and the
surrounding areas. You, as a member of the congregation, have helped
to make this possible by supporting the many projects Outreach has
sponsored, like the chicken barbeque with a net profit of Net profit
of $1341.00. We have received a letter
from Sojourner House (bulletin board), thanking our church for our
monetary assistance. Recently we also have sent a check and letter
written by Susan Kaemmerlen to Mercy Flight for several veterans from
our area to fly to see the World Trade Center. What a small price for
the many veterans who gave their limbs, mind and body for our freedom.
We are a working outreach. All our profit goes to those organizations
outside our church. Thank you all for supporting us, and please keep
us in your prayers.

director at Lifespan. program. (Art is the gentleman without the
glasses). The organization helps older adults take on the challenges
and opportunities of longer life, dealing with family members, makes
legal, financial, health and housing plans for a loved one with a
disability. We thank Art for all he has done to help the elderly who
are struggling to maintain their independence.
St. Andrew's Chapel
We are attempting to make St. Andrew's Chapel self-supporting. The
chapel is not in the budget of Good Shepherd or the Diocese of
Rochester.
Summer services are held in July through August at St. Andrew's Chapel
on Lake Rd in Webster. Summer services have been a long standing
tradition here. Many people are involved in preparing the chapel for
use each summer. It has a capacity of about 60 people and is in a
wooded setting along the Lake Ontario shoreline. The chapel is over
one hundred years old and takes many of the older members back to
their youth when country churches were small and functional. Its
peaceful setting is a provides a delightful worship experience
Therefore any contributions are very appreciated and checks should be
make out to St. Andrew's. Regular contributions to Good Shepherd will
be taken to the church
St Andrews' Chapel is a special place to many of us. On occasion,
there has been an interest in having the chapel available for prayer
in addition to the Sunday service. Father Lance has given his support
and we would like to try this on a limited basis during the summer to
determine interest. St. Andrews' will be open for prayer and quiet
reflection between 10:30 am and 12:00 noon. on Tuesday, August 5th.
Please note there is no service. Additional dates may be planned
later. Any questions or suggestion can be direct to the church office
(585) 872-2281, or leave a message for Martha Conte or Carolyn
Pfrommer

short-term rehabilitation services..

Honoring Those Who Serve:
Each week, Good Shepherd parishioners offer up their prayers for
family members serving in the military. We would like to introduce to
everyone a way to get to know these fine young men and women a little
better, so that we can honor not just a name, but a real person in our
prayers for their protection, and our thanksgivings for their service
to our country. The bulletin board outside the library has been
designated for this purpose, and will be sponsored by the children of
Good Shepherd's Church School. Attention families of servicemen/women!
We invite you to give us a photo (or a few) of your family
member--please give their name, branch of service/rank/duty station,
and if you like, a little bio/story about them. If possible, include a
current address as well. The children will be decorating the board,
and they would like to send along cards of support and thanks as well.
This will be an ongoing project, but please submit the above items to
GS Office by November 2nd, so that we can have the bulletin board
ready for viewing on the Sunday (11/9) preceding Veterans Day. Please
contact, Sharon Therkildsen, or Laura Rosato, through our info line
above, if you have any questions. Thank you!
Honoring Our Veterans
Special time in the service will be set-aside for veterans on
November 9, 2008. This is an important time for all veterans and we
would like all service men and women to participate in the service by
coming forward as a group to receive recognition. We would like all
Sunday School children to come in before the peace and remain for the
rest of the service.
